TEAM MENTORS was set up with a view to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be. As Benjamin Franklin rightly said “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.

The best teacher is not the one who knows most but the one who is most capable of reducing knowledge to that simple compound of the obvious and wonderful. Hence the true Leaders…. should influence others…. in such a way that it builds people up, encourages and edifies them so they can duplicate this attitude in others. Also, the delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves.

At TEAM MENTORS, mentoring is a powerful personal development and empowerment tool. It is an effective way of helping people to progress in their careers and in becoming increasingly popular as its potential is realised. It is a helpful relationship based upon mutual trust and respect. It is a chance to look more closely at yourself, your issues, opportunities and what you want in life.


In many secondary and post-secondary schools, mentorship programs are offered to support students in program completion, confidence building and transitioning to further education. There are also many peer mentoring programs designed specifically to bring under-represented populations into science and engineering.

TEAM MENTOR to a professional is a guide who can help find the right direction and who can help them to develop solutions to career issues. Mentors rely upon having had similar experiences to gain an empathy with the mentee and an understanding of their issues. Mentoring provides the mentee with an opportunity to think about career options and progress.

It is a chance to look more closely at yourself, your issues, opportunities and what you want in life. Mentoring is about becoming more self aware, taking responsibility for your life and directing your life in the direction you decide, rather than leaving it to chance.

Organizations recognize that workforce demographics have changed dramatically in recent years, as women and members of different minority groups have joined the workforce in greater numbers. In addition, technology has automated traditional employee functions and continues to affect on-the-job performance, altering the way people see themselves within the corporate structure.
